We are qualified, non-practising solicitors who provide high quality legal research and policy development services and offer a professional, reliable and friendly service to clients.
Helen's experience includes working for a number of organisations which promote free speech and human rights, including English PEN, Index on Censorship and Global Witness, focusing primarily on advising these organisations on access to justice and alternative dispute resolution. Helen has also worked extensively on issues of legal costs and funding, having worked for the Association of Personal Injury lawyers during the Jackson review on civil litigation costs and on costs and funding matters on behalf of the Libel Reform Campaign.
Charlotte’s experience includes many years working as a lawyer for the Law Commission in the public law team, researching and writing reports on issues connected with human rights, access to justice and dispute resolution, as well as other public law issues. Charlotte is also a part-time Associate Lecturer with the Open University, and has previously worked as a government lawyer and in private practice.
We are freelance consultants, and can work either independently or together, as we did recently on a large literature review for the Equality and Human Rights Commission. We both hold professional indemnity insurance in respect of legal research and policy development work.
